Depot Street Farmers Market Opens Saturday!

Just like this headline says, so too does the Greeneville Sun newspaper. Below is a copy and paste of the article, but if you'd like to see it yourself it's right here: Greeneville Sun Article

Depot Street Farmers Market opens for the 2018 season Saturday.
The market will open each Saturday through September on West Depot Street in front of the James H. Quillen U.S. District Courthouse.
Hours this year will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday, a news release says.

The market is partnering with the Town of Greeneville and the Healthier Tennessee Community for an opening day celebration.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, Greeneville Mayor W.T. Daniels will lead a 1-mile walk to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Walkers should meet at the corner of Depot and Irish streets.
At noon, brother and sister duo Manny and Natalia Rodriquez, 18 and 16, respectively, will perform.
According to the news release, returning vendors will offer fare like fresh kale, Swiss chard, salad greens, eggs, honey, lamb and a variety of plants. New offerings include hemp soap, lotions and body rubs by Moshemp Cultivators, a certified hemp farm. Later this month, offerings will include freshly raised beef and pork.
For more information, call Mary Goldman at 342-7006 or Heather Youngblood at 525-2612.

We are set for an amazing year this year. We will also be using social media hashtags this year, so please when you post to any social media (especially facebook) tag it as #depotfresh

Good Chance of Rain Saturday

Be sure you bring your tent, umbrella, wading shoes.... boat? According to weatherbug (image is clickable) the forecast is looking like a wet day starting with a 30% chance overnight friday night into saturday morning and going up from there to 60%.
Vendors: PLEASE bring your tent weights and tie downs. We've had loads of wind this year so far and we've seen many many tents (including our own) go tumbling down the street without a driver.
